Now l have actually started working for Blossomcare NW it is just how l imagined it to be and it’s the best career move I’ve made. The directors are part of the staff team and the ethos and respect that is shown amongst staff has a very nurturing feel to it.

The small team we have are amazing and we have had so much fun with training and getting to know one another and for me it’s a honour to be starting and contributing to a company that is already growing into the exemplary company it deserves to be.

Love my job, love the people l work for and with, and can’t wait for the future.

I started off with Blossomcare when it first opened, 18 months ago. When I first arrived, I was nervous because it was a new job and I have had no prior experience in this role. When I arrived and met the management team Jenny, Karen and Jane I felt very welcomed and made to feel comfortable from the start. I feel the management team are really easy to approach and listen to any views I have. I am always supported by the management team with my diploma, incidents within the home and also how I am outside of work life.

Once I started, I was paired with a senior for my first couple of shifts and this was really beneficial for me, as I was able to learn the role from them and they really helped me to develop.  We also received team training which helped the team jell and get to know each other, which helped us all.

Blossomcare also do incentives for the staff, which is appreciated.

I feel that young people are provided with a lot of activities, opportunities and experiences and that their views and wishes are always considered in their care, whilst ensuring the wellbeing of the child.

I feel that the management team are fair and approachable, and welcome our views and ideas for the home and young people.

There are good incentives in place for staff and young people and the training is fantastic. The home is lovely, cosy and well looked after and any issues that arise are addressed quickly and efficiently.

I feel that young people are provided with a lot of activities, opportunities and experiences and that their views and wishes are always considered in their care, whilst ensuring the wellbeing of the child, keeping them safe and providing a high level of therapeutic support is paramount at all times.

I have worked at Blossomcare now for around 15 months. When starting at Rose-Edge I was welcomed onto the team by everyone with open arms. During my first 6 months of employment, I had a challenging start as my young person was pushing/pulling and challenging our relationship. I feel that staff really stood by me and supported me by challenging these behaviours. They ensured that the young person understood that the behaviours she was displaying was unacceptable and we are to treat everyone the same.

I feel I have been supported throughout by management, and understand how a care home runs, procedures that are followed and developed to understand how to complete paperwork at a high standard. Management is always looking at ways of how to further my development to help my practise.

I feel that staff are one big circle of family and follow the same procedures to ensure that everyone is working on the same page. Staff ensure they have a laugh together but also ensure we work to our best possible practise.

Staff work together to do team building on a regular basis, this can be from charity events, Christmas parties and celebration meals.

I feel that management really do appreciate what we do for the company and understand that we are all hard working and try our very best to ensure our young people are happy and safe. Management love to sing our praises during monthly team meetings, supervisions and appraisals. I feel they understand our work balance and ensure we do not feel pressured with too much workload.

There are many benefits to working for the company such as, 3 monthly attendance vouchers, health shield, blue light card, employee of the month, birthdays off, activity days with the YP, Christmas event parties and team building tasks. I would highly recommend working for Blossomcare.
